One of a kind artwork, each panel is signed and dated on the front and back (copyright 2017).
“‘Uprooted No. 6′ is a panel from a series of six, each with the same title, originally presented as a Hexaptych. This series is about displacement and exile. It is my interpretation of the plight of displaced people in the world who have been uprooted from their families, homes and countries. Our roots give us life. They give us our identity.”
This artwork will be wrapped using Acid-Free Archival Paper (Glassine) and packaged in bubble wrap, reinforced with corrugated paper and outer wrapping using tear resistant Kraft paper with reinforced tape. In this series I use Acrylic ink and resin on canvas panels. The clear resin makes the colours of the root balls come alive.
The coloured root balls symbolise our shared humanity and the beauty of our differences. Each one celebrates diversity, people from different cultures and histories, while reflecting a hope for a kinder, fairer, more inclusive world.
